Kyrgyzstan - Floods and landslides (ECHO 06 May 2026)

On?28?April, the town of Gulcha in Osh?Oblast, and later on?2–3?May, the Batken District of Batken?Oblast, both in south-western Kyrgyzstan, were struck by heavy rain, river overflow, floods and landslides, resulting in displacement.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reported on?3?May that?149?people had been displaced in Batken?Oblast. As of 28 April, in Gulcha,?92?households were affected, with a further four households impacted in Jalal-Abad?Oblast.
A state of emergency has been declared in Batken?Oblast.
Over the next 48 hours, additional moderate rainfall is forecast across the country.
