Pubdate:

Severe-weather events, including strong winds, have affected Apulia, south-eastern Italy, resulting in fatalities, damage, and traffic disruptions.
As of 13?April, media reports indicate two deaths – one in Bisceglie, province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, and another in Taranto, province of Taranto – both caused by falling trees or poles driven by the strong wind. A third person was injured in Margherita?di?Savoia, also in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, after being struck by heavy objects that had been blown down
The university campus in Bari, which accommodates both the Polytechnic and the University of Bari, was briefly evacuated after metal panels detached from the roofs of several buildings.
Damage and disruptions to traffic were also reported, with almost all incoming flights to Bari diverted, most outbound flights cancelled, and the Ferrotramviaria train service on the route linking Bari Central Station to the airport temporarily suspended. Several parks, municipal gardens and cemeteries were closed as a precaution.
Over the next 48?hours, isolated rainfall is forecast for the Apulia region.
