Syria - Floods (ECHO 11 Feb 2026)

In recent days, north-western Syria, particularly the governorates of Idlib, Hama, and Latakia, has been hit by heavy rain that has caused floods and flash flooding, resulting in casualties and damage.
According to media reports, three people have been killed: two in Latakia and one in the Turkmen Mountain area in the Latakia region. Five people were injured, and at least 24 displacement camps in parts of Idlib province were affected, affecting more than 900 families.
The Shelter/Non-Food Items Sector has activated the Emergency Response Mechanism and DG ECHO partners in coordination with authorities, and the Syrian Civil Defense are responding to the needs on the ground.
For 10–11?February, light to moderate rain is forecast across northern and north-western Syria.
