Mauritius, RĂ©union - Tropical cyclone BHEKI, update (ECHO 21 Nov 2024)

Tropical cyclone BHEKI is passing close to the southern coast of Mauritius island and is moving south-west over the southern Indian Ocean towards Réunion. On 21 November at 6.00 UTC, its centre was located offshore approximately 80 km south of Port Louis (Mauritius) and 170 km east of the eastern coast of Réunion (France), with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h as reported by Meteo France La Réunion.
BHEKI is forecast to continue south-west and on 21 November late afternoon (UTC), it is expected to pass south of the southern coast of Réunion further weakening.
Over the next 48 hours, moderate to locally heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecast over Mauritius and Réunion.
