Indonesia - Floods and landslides (ECHO 13 Oct 2024)

Heavy rainfall affected western Indonesia, in particular Sumatra island, on 4 October, causing floods and landslides that have resulted in displacement and damage.
The Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) reports, as of 5 October, 480 displaced people, and 4,411 affected people across 11 villages in Padang Pariaman regency in West Sumatra province. In addition, the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 5 October, 5,039 affected people and 1,274 affected houses in Aceh Utara regency in Aceh province, northern Sumatra Island.
Over the next 48 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over northern Sumatra Island.
