  • Since 30 October, tropical storm PILAR brought heavy rainfall and strong winds across the western regions of El Salvador, resulting in casualties and damage.
  • According to media, at least three people died while more than 500 others were evacuated. The Government of El Salvador has declared a nationwide red alert and a 15-days national state of emergency.
  • As of 2 November at 3:00 UTC, PILAR is located over the Pacific Ocean almost 400 km west of the coast of El Salvador and it will continue westwards over the Sea.
  • For the next 24 hours, moderate rain is expected across most parts of the country.
