  • Tropical storm PHILIPPE formed over the Atlantic Ocean on 23 September and started moving west toward the Lesser Antilles. On 3 October at 6.00 UTC, its centre was located over the Ocean approximately 65 km east of the Anguilla Island and 60 km north-west of the Barbuda Island (both in northern Leeward Islands, the northern part of the Lesser Antilles), with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h.
  • PHILIPPE is forecast to continue moving northward over the Ocean, passing well off the coast of Anguilla and the Virgin Islands on 3 October. After that it is expected to pass approximately 190 km east of Bermuda on 7 October very early in the morning (UTC), with maximum sustained winds up to 110 km/h.
  • Over the next 48 hours, heavy rainfall, strong winds and storm surge are forecast over the Leeward Islands, the northern Windward Islands and the Virgin Islands. NOAA has issued a tropical storm warning for the northern Leeward Islands.

  • Tropical storm PHILIPPE passed close to the coast of Anguilla and the Virgin Islands on 3 October and is moving northward over the Atlantic Ocean. On 4 October at 3.00 UTC, its centre was located over the Ocean approximately 190 km north of the north-eastern coast of Puerto Rico Island, with maximum sustained winds of 74 km/h.
  • According to media reports, the islands of Guadalupe, Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica have been affected by floods, and schools have been closed on 3 October following the influence of PHILIPPE.
  • PHILIPPE is forecast to continue northward over the Ocean towards the western coast of Canada.
  • For the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall, strong winds and storm surge are still forecast for the northern Islands of the Lesser Antilles, including most of the northern Leeward Islands and Virgin Islands.
