On 6-7 February, a series of earthquakes from light to moderate magnitude shook Davao de Oro and other Provinces in eastern Mindanao.
On 7 March at 8.47 UTC (16.47 local time), another earthquake of 5.6 M at a depth of 10 km hit Davao Province. The epicentre is located approximately 11 km north-east of New Bataan Town (Davao de Oro Province, Davao Region).
USGS estimates that up to 1,000 people were exposed to very strong shaking and up to 31,000 people to strong shaking.
According to media, some houses collapsed and 300 people have been evacuated in Andap village, less than 5 km south of New Bataan Town.
