Following the severe weather that has been affecting most of Greece since 4 September, causing floods, landslides and a number of severe weather-related incidents, the number of casualties and damage increased.
The Greek Civil Protection reports, as of 10 September, fifteen fatalities and two persons still missing across Volos City and the Pelion mountainous areas in Thessaly Region. One missing persons is also reported in the Agia Triada village in Thermaikos Municipality, Central Macedonia Region. In addition, the same source reports a total of 5,260 evacuated people across Thessaly, Central Greece, Central Macedonia, Peloponnese and Attica Regions, where the Thessaly is the worst affected one with more than 3,500 evacuated people.
The Copernicus Emergency Management Service, EMS was activated in rapid mapping mode () on 5 September and five maps were produced so far.
Over the next 24 hours, no more rainfall is forecast over the whole country.
