Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, May 2023Local media reported evacuations in Nelson Mandela Bay municipality, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa after heavy rain and flooding on 14 May 2023. Some residents refused to leave their homes. The municipality government reported roads were flooded in at least 25 locations. The country saw heavy rainfall in a period 08 to 09 May and again 14 to 15 May 2023.
