La Paz Department, Bolivia, Early February 2023Flooding affected Guanay, Mapiri, and Tipuani Municipalities in Larecaja Province the La Paz Department of Bolivia in early February 2023 following heavy rain and the overflow of the Tipuani and Mapiri rivers. Local media reported at least 1,500 families affected, including 400 families in Guanay. Camps were set up to accommodate families who lost their homes. At least 20 homes were damaged or destroyed in Mapiri. One person died in Guanay. Local officials in Guanay blamed the floods on gold mining which has blocked many of the rivers and tributaries. Red Alerts were issued by SENAMHI for flooding on the Tipuani, Mapiri and Kaka Rivers tributaries from 02 to 07 February.Mon 6 Feb 2023FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
