  • Heavy rainfall, strong winds and storm surges, mainly due to the remnants of the post tropycal cyclone named KIRK, have been affecting western and northern France, in particular the Centre-Val de Loire region, the Pays de la Loire region and the greater Paris area over the last 36 hours, causing floods and a number of severe weather-related incidents that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • The Interdepartmental Crisis Management Operational Centre (COGIC) and media report, as of 10 October, twelve injured people across the Eure-et-Loir department (Centre-Val de Loire region) and the Loire-Atlantique department (Pays de la Loire region).
  • Over the next 24 hours, more rainfall over the western and northern regions is expected, including the already affected Centre-Val de Loire and Pays de la Loire. But severe weather associated with the Kirk Depression gradually weakens and evacuates.
