Tropical Storm Meari, Japan, August 2022Tropical Storm Meari made landfall on central Japan's Izu Peninsula on Saturday. Heavy rain fell in parts of Tokyo and Shizuoka Prefecture. Evacuation orders were issued to around 70,000 people in the city of Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture, due to threat of landslides.
