  • An earthquake of 6.1 M (6.0 M according to local authorities) at a depth of 10 km occurred in the Molucca Sea, 47 km east of the Minahasa Peninsula of the island of Sulawesi on 25 February at 22:55 UTC (26 February, 06:55 local time). The epicentre was located approximately 56 km east of Modisi town in North Sulawesi province, central-north Indonesia.
  • Approximately ten aftershocks of a magnitude between 4.7 and 5.1 M have been recorded in the area.
  • According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), as of 27 February, at least 35 people have been affected, and 11 houses have been damaged in East Bolaang Mongondow regency in central North Sulawesi province.
  • National authorities are monitoring the damaged infrastructure.
