  • On 15 May, heavy rain and thunderstorms affected several areas of Algeria, causing flooding and severe weather-related incidents that resulted in casualties and property damage.
  • According to media reports, five people have died, four of them in two severe weather incidents in the city of Djelfa, northern Algeria. One person remains missing, and more than 100 people have been injured.
  • On 16 May, light to moderate rainfall is expected across northern and north-eastern Algeria, with light rain also forecast for north-eastern regions on 17 May.
