  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting western and central Dominican Republic, in particular the Dajabón, and the Santo Domingo provinces over the period from 3 to 5 November, triggering some landslides and causing floods that have resulted in population displacements and damage.
  • Media reports, as of 8 November, 1,390 displaced people and nearly 280 damaged houses across the affected area, where the Dajabón province, western Dominican Republic, bordering with Haiti is the most affected.
  • Over the next 96 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over most of the country.
