Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Late April to Early May 2022Civil Defence and media reported heavy rainfall in parts of Greater Rio de Janeiro and surrounding areas from late April 2022. One person died and 4 were rescued after a vehicle was swept away by flood waters in the municipality of São Gonçalo. A landslide destroyed 4 houses in Praça Seca. No injuries or fatalities were reported. Severe flooding damaged homes in the district of Lidice. Across the region firefighters and Civil Defence reported 64 incidents of flooding and 28 landslides and carried out 46 rescues.Tue 3 May 2022FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
