Sudan, July to August 2020Heavy rain from late July caused flooding and a dam to fail in Blue Nile state, Sudan. Flooding also affected areas of Khartoum state and North Darfur. The Interior Ministry, quoted by media, reported 5 fatalities (locations were not provided). Sudan Red Crescent reported over 1,200 homes were damaged by the floods and dam collapsed in Blue Nile State. According to UNOCHA, 6 people died in Gezira State after a violent storm on 28 July.
