  • Heavy rain and strong winds continue to affect south-east Spain since 11 September, triggering floods and resulting in additional casualties. The most affected provinces are Valencia, Alicante, Murcia, Albacete, eastern Andalucía, and the Balearic Islands.
  • Media report 6 deaths, around 3,500 people evacuated, and approximately 700,000 students affected by the closure of schools. Several roads and railway lines were affected, two airports were closed (Murcia and Almeria) and there were flight disruptions in Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, and Alicante airports.
  • The European Commission's Copernicus emergency satellite mapping service was activated on 12 September and have been produced so far.
  • The weather is set to improve in the south-east provinces in the next 24 hours.
