  • A new tropical storm named THIRTY formed over the eastern Coral Sea on 14 April in the morning (UTC) and started moving southeast toward southern Vanuatu and eastern New Caledonia (France). On 15 April at 0.00 UTC, its centre was located offshore approximately 30 km southeast of Erromango island, with maximum sustained winds of 83 km/h (tropical storm).
  • THIRTY is forecast to pass the eastern of Loanengo island, New Caledonia, in the morning (UTC) of 15 April, with maximum sustained winds up to 93 km/h, and it is expected to continue southward over the South West Pacific Ocean, close to the Norfolk Islands.
  • Over the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds are forecast over southern Vanuatu and eastern New Caledonia.
