  • Tropical Depression SEVEN (locally known in the Philippines as "Emong") is moving north-westwards through the north-eastern South China Sea. On 6 July, at 0.00 UTC, its centre was located about 100 km south-west of Kaohsiung City (southern Taiwan), with maximum sustained winds of 37 km/h.
  • SEVEN is forecast to make landfall in the morning of 6 July near Zhangzhou City (Fujian Province, south-eastern China), as a Tropical Depression.
  • A Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal 1 is in effect for Batanes islands (northern Philippines), a Typhoon warning has been issued for Fujian and Hainan Provinces (China). Strong wind and high waves are forecast for Batanes on 6 July and on 6-9 July, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over southern China.
