  • Tropical cyclone MICHAEL made landfall over Florida Panhandle east of Panama City on 10 October afternoon UTC as Category 4 hurricane. It then continued north-east, crossing north-western Florida and Georgia, weakening. 
  • Over the next 24 hours, heavy rain, storm surge and strong winds may continue to affect several areas of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. As of 11 October, a storm surge warning is in effect for Panama city Florida to Keaton Beach Florida. A tropical storm warning is in effect for north of Fernandina Beach Florida to Duck North Carolina, Pamlico and Albermarle Sounds. Okaloosa/Walton County Line Florida to Anclote River Florida.
  • According to local media, as of 11 October, over 370 000 people have been ordered to evacuate.
  • Following a request for support from the United States' Federal Emergency management Agency, DG ECHO's Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) requested the production of satellite maps through the Copernicus Emergency Management Service.

  • Tropical cyclone MICHAEL continued north-north-east toward Florida State (USA), strengthening. On 10 October at 6.00 UTC its was 290 km south-south-west of Panama (Florida, USA) with maximum sustained winds of 210 km/h (Category 4 hurricane). 
  • Over the next 24 hours, its centre is expected to make landfall over Florida Panhandle or Florida Big Beng on 10 October afternoon UTC probably as a Category 4 hurricane. Heavy rain, storm surge and strong winds may affect several areas of Florida Panhandle, south-east Alabama and south-west Georgia. A hurricane warning is in effect, as of 10 October, from the Alabama/Florida border to the Suwannee River Florida. A storm surge warning is in effect for Okaloosa/Walton County Line Florida to Anclote River Florida.

  • Tropical cyclone MICHAEL continued moving north toward Florida State (USA) over the north-western Caribbean Sea, strengthening. On 9 October at 6.00 UTC its centre was located 685 km south of Apalachicola (Florida, USA), with maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h (hurricane).
  • It is forecast to make landfall close or over Florida Panhandle or Florida Big Bend area on 10 October morning UTC, probably as an intense hurricane. A hurricane warning is in effect for Alabama/Florida border to the Suwannee River Florida, and the Cuban province of Pinar del Rio. A storm surge warning is in effect for Okaloosa/Walton County Line Florida to Anclote River Florida.

  • Tropical cyclone Michael, which formed over the north-western Caribbean Sea on 6 October, severely affected Central America over the weekend, and started moving north toward Florida state (USA) as a tropical depression. On 8 October at 6.00 UTC its centre was located 155 km east-south-east of Cozumel (Mexico) and 210 km south south-southwest of western Cuba. It had maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h (tropical storm).
  • Over the next 24 hours, it is expected to continue moving north over the Gulf of Mexico toward Florida and strengthening.
  • As of 8 October, a tropical storm warning is in effect for the Cuban provinces of Pinar del Rio and the Isle of Youth as well as for the coast of Mexico from Tulum to Cabo Catoche, including Cozumel.
