  • Heavy rainfall continues to affect central-southern China since 1 June, causing floods triggering landslides and resulting in casualties and damage.
  • In Hunan Province (central-southern China), ten people have died while three are still missing following widespread floods. At least 286,000 people have been evacuated, 1,8 million affected and 2,700 houses damaged or collapsed.
  • In Guangxi Region (southern China), seven people died, one is still missing and another has been rescued following landslides.
  • For the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain is forecast over most parts of southern and south-eastern China.

  • Heavy rain has been affecting parts of the country (both southern and northern China) over the past few days, causing floods, triggering landslides and resulting in casualties and damage.
  • According to media reports, three people died due to a severe weather-related event in Fujian Province , while two others died following a landslide in Jiangxi Province (south-eastern China). In the Inner Mongolia region, one person died, and three are still missing after another severe weather-related event. Furthermore, more than 110,000 people have been evacuated in Jiangxi province, and more than 80,000 in Fujian.
  • Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over southern China, particularly across the southeastern Provinces, including Jiangxi and Fujian.
  • Over the past week, 17 people died across the Provinces of Guangxi and in Hunan (central China) following flood and landslide events.

  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting southern and eastern China (particularly Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, and Jiangxi Provinces) over the past few days, causing floods, rivers overflow and triggering landslides that have resulted in evacuations and widespread damage.
  • Media report, as of 22 June, around 200,000 evacuated people in a number of temporary shelters and a total of 480,000 affected people across the Guangdong Province. In neighbouring Guangxi Province, there are 145,000 evacuated people, while in Jiangxi Province, nearly 500,000 affected people were reported. More than 220,000 individuals have been evacuated people across the Fujian Province.
  • Over the next 24 hours, according to the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is forecast over central, southern and eastern China, including the already affected Provinces.

Dozens of people were rescued from floods in Lianping County, Heyuan City, according to media reports. Some areas were under 1.5 metres of water. Local media reported on 20 June that days of heavy rain had flooded areas of Shaoguan. A landslide destroyed 22 uninhabited homes. Continued heavy rain and rising rivers caused widespread flooding in the province from 20 June, As of 22 June media reported around 200,000 evacuated people and a total of 480,000 people affected. Authorities suspended classes, office work and public transport.
