- A number of wildfires have been burning across the Attica region (central Greece, near Athens) since 10 August, causing population displacements and damage.
- According to the JRC European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), the wildfires have burnt so far an area of approximately 6,600 hectares in the East Attica regional unit (Attica region).
- Media report several evacuations across the Varnavas village and the Marathon town (East Attica regional unit, Attica region).
- On 12 August, Greece activated the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) requesting aerial firefighting means and ground firefighting forces to support national efforts. The ERCC mobilised two rescEU planes from Italy and one rescEU helicopter from France. Also under the UCPM, the Czech Republic is deploying a ground firefighting team with vehicles.
- The Copernicus Emergency Management Service was activated in rapid mapping mode () on 12 August to provide initial rough estimation, fire extent and damage assessment.
- Over the next 48 hours, according to JRC EFFIS, the fire danger forecast is expected from high to very extreme across most of central Greece.

- Several wildfires continue to burn across the Attica region (central Greece, very close to the capital Athens) since 10 August, causing casualties and widespread damage.
- According to the JRC European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), as of 13 August in the afternoon (UTC), the wildfires have burnt so far an area of approximately 11,300 hectares in the East Attica regional unit (Attica region).
- The Greek Civil Protection (GCP) reports, as of 13 August, a number of people evacuated from several places in the area just north-east of the capital Athens. The GCP also reports 649 evacuated people in 39 temporary accomodation centres and three evacuated hospitals. In addition, one fatality and 19 injured people were reported.
- On 12 August, Greece activated the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). The Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) mobilised two rescEU firefighting planes from Italy and a rescEU helicopter from France and Serbia deployed one helicopter. In addition, Czechia, France, Italy, Serbia and Romania deployed ground firefighting teams while Romanian, Maltese and Moldovan firefighters, already prepositioned in Greece under the UCPM, were among the first responders battling the fires.
- Over the next 72 hours, according to JRC EFFIS, the fire danger forecast is expected from very high to very extreme across most of the Attica region.
