Several wildfires have been occurring across the Oblasts of Kurgan and Tyumen in the southern Ural Mountains area and western Siberia (southern Russia), resulting in casualties and damage.
According to media reports, at least 21 people have died, and more than 5,000 buildings have been burned.
A state of emergency was introduced in the Kurgan Oblast.
Over the next 24 hours, according to the JRC Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS) the fire danger forecast is expected to be from high to extreme across the affected areas.
