  • Heavy rainfall and strong winds due to Storm Ciaràn have been affecting northern Italy (in particular Tuscany, Veneto, Liguria and Emilia-Romagna Regions) since 1 November, causing floods, rivers overflow, landslides and several severe weather-related incident (particularly due to strong winds) that have resulted in casualties and widespread damage. The worst affected is the Tuscany Region.
  • Media report, as of 6 November, seven fatalities (mainly across the Florence Province and the Prato Province, northern Tuscany), one person still missing in the Prato Province and approximately 1,200 evacuated people across both Provinces. Media also report one person still missing in the Belluno Province (northern Veneto Region).
  • The Copernicus EMS was activated in rapid mapping mode (EMSR705) on 3 November for the affected area across Tuscany Region and seven maps were produed so far.
  • Over the next 24 hours, no more rainfall is forecast over Tuscany Region.
