Alagoas, Brazil, Late May 2022Areas of Alagoas state saw heavy rain from 23 May, causing flash floods, landsides and rivers to rise. 300 people were displaced in Penedo where homes were destroyed and 7 people rescued from under the rubble. As of 29 May national Civil Defence reported Meanwhile in the neighbouring state of Alagoas, Civil Defence reported 10,119 people displaced across the state.
