  • Heavy rainfall have affected  Honduras on 3 November, causing floodings that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • According to UN OCHA, as of 7 November, three people died, 2,094 people were displaced, of whom 1,632 have been evacuated in temporary shelters, and a total of 35,315 people have been affected by extreme weather. The most affected Departments are Atlántida, Colón, Cortés, Gracias a Dios, Islas de la Bahía, Santa Bárbara, Yoro, Olancho and Alianza Municipality in Valle Department.  In addition,  23 bridges, 27 highways and 13 roads have been damaged.
  • Over the next 24 hours, more rainfall is forecast over the whole country, with locally very heavy rainfall in north-western Honduras.

  • The amount of casualties and impacted people continues to increase following heavy rain, strong winds and floods that have been affecting most parts of Honduras since the beginning of November.
  • According to the Permanent Contingency Commission of Honduras (COPECO), four people died, six were injured and 12 were rescued. In addition, 2,364 people have been displaced, almost 2,000 sheltered, 46,658 others affected, of whom 5,112 severely and more than 1,050 houses damaged (26 destroyed). Furthermore, several roads, bridges and public buildings have been damaged.
  • On 9-10 November, moderate rainfall is forecast over most of Honduras.

Areas of the country were affected by Tropical Storm Pilar in late October (reported separately). A cold front and a low pressure system brought further severe weather soon after, with heavy rain causing flooding and landslides in multiple locations.
