  • At surface, high pressure values prevailing over Papua New Guinea inland areas combining with relatively low pressure values over sea are linked with light intensity winds mainly from northern directions. Typical patterns of (locally high intensity) tropical precipitation are resolved (forecast) for the next 24 hours.
  • The forecast weather conditions to prevail over Southern Highlands and Western provinces for the next 48 hours are cloudy to overcast with local (intense) showers or thunderstorms.
  • Maximum temperature reaching 23 to 25°C whereas minimum temperatures dropping during early morning hours 12 to 14°C. It should be noted that over coastal areas (as Port Moresby and Lae for instance) warmer conditions will prevail ranging from 24 (minimum) to 32°C (maximum temperature).
