Incessant rain and onrush of water from upstream have triggered flash floods in the low-lying areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj under Sylhet division. In Sylhet, low-lying areas of four upazilas were inundated due to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department in Sylhet said 107mm of rainfall was reordered in the last 24 hours.
