Tropical cyclones can become post-tropical before they dissipate, meaning they can become sub-tropical, extra-tropical or a remnant low-pressure area. NASA's Aqua satellite provided a visible image that showed Typhoon Kujira transitioning into an extra-tropical storm, and the effects of strong wind shear on the system.

Shell donates over $300,000 to Hurricane Laura relief efforts

Shell Oil Company and its Louisiana lines of business have pledged over $300,000 in donations to assist the relief and recovery efforts in Southwest Louisiana following Hurricane Laura. The hurricane caused widespread devastation when it stretched from Louisiana’s coast to over 200 miles inland. More than 100,000 Louisianans have been displaced.
