DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 PM ChST...0900 UTC...the eye of Typhoon Noru was located near

latitude 24.2 degrees north and longitude 137.5 degrees east. Noru

is moving northwest at 8 mph, and this general motion is expected to

continue over the next couple of days.



Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 115 mph. A slow weakening

trend is expected through tonight, followed by nearly steady

intensity Thursday.



Typhoon-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles from the center,

and tropical storm-force winds extend out up to 160 miles.
