Discussion and outlook

At 700 PM ChST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Muifa was

located near Latitude 16.3 North and Longitude 135.0 East. Tropical

Storm Muifa is moving toward the north-northeast at 9 mph. It is

expected to make a turn toward the northeast with an increase in

forward speed over the next 24 hours.



Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 35 mph. Tropical Storm

Muifa is forecast to remain at this intensity through tonight, then

start weakening and could dissipate Friday night or Saturday.



Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 65

miles in the eastern semicircle and up to 50 miles in the western

semicircle.
