Cameroon - Floods and landslides (ECHO 20 Mar 2023)

  • On 18-19 March, Buea City (the capital of Southwest Region, southwestern Cameroon) experienced torrential rains that caused floods and landslides and resulted in casualties and damage.
  • According to media, at least one person died, six are missing, and five have been injured. In addition, the same source reports damage to properties and flooded roads.
  • National authorities and volunteers of the Red Cross are providing help for those most affected.
  • For the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain with isolated thunderstorms is forecast over the affected City.
