South East India, Late November 2021A depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal brought heavy rainfall to parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh in southeastern India from 16 November 2021. At least 9 people have died in rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu. Hundreds of people have been evacuated or rescued by police, military and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. As of 21 November, NERC reported 24 dead, 17 missing, 31,827 displaced in Andhra Pradesh. 2000 homes have been damaged. Some of the worst of the flooding was a result of the failure of the earthen dam of the Annamayya project on the Cheyyeru river near Badanagadda village in Kadapa District.Mon 22 Nov 2021FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
