Odisha, India, August 2019Heavy rain was reported in parts of Odisha from 06 August, 2019, brought by a deep depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal. Flooding displaced around 6,300. The National Emergency Response Centre said worst affected districts are Rayagada, Gajpati and Kalahandi. The districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam and Kandhamal were also affected. Further flooding from around 11 August prompted more evacuations. By 14 August around 45,000 had been evacuated from the districts of Bolangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Bargarh and Kandhamal. As of 13 August, National Emergency Response Centre reported that 9 people had died in Odisha since the start of the monsoon, including 4 people from 11 to 13 August.Tue 6 Aug 2019FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
