  • According to the JRC European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), the wildfire that has been burning in the Paphos district, in western Cyprus, since 11 June and has been causing population evacuations and damage, has burnt an area of more than 1,409 ha as of 13 June.
  • The national authorities report on 13 June, that at least 49 displaced people from the villages of Psathi, Choulou and Lemona have been sheltered in an evacuation centre in Paphos. In addition, at least two houses have been destroyed, and 14-15 others have been damaged. The villages of Giolou, Thinia, Ayios Dimitrianos, Drymou and Polemi were also affected.
  • The same source also reports that the active fires are under control.
  • On 11 June, Cyprus activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), two firefighting aircraft offered by Greece took an active role in the operation in Cyprus.
  • On 13-14 June, according to the JRC EFFIS, the fire danger forecast is expected to be from very high to extreme in the affected areas.
