  • Tropical cyclone MAN-YI continued moving north-west over the North Pacific Ocean, strengthening. On 22 November at 0:00 UTC, its centre was located approximately 420 km south-west of Guam Island (USA) with maximum sustained winds of 139 km/h (typhoon, equivalent to a category 1 cyclone in the Saffir Simpson Scale).
  • Over the next 24 hours, it is forecast to continue moving north-west and entering the Philippine Sea, strengthening and with maximum sustained winds up to 176 km/h (typhoon, equivalent to a category 2 in the Saffir Simpson Scale). 
  • MAN-YI could keep moving north-west over the Philippine Sea over 23-27 November, weakening into a tropical storm.

  • A new tropical cyclone MAN-YI formed over the North Pacific Ocean, south of Pohnpei Island (Micronesia), on 19 November. On 21 November at 0:00 UTC, its centre was located approx. 985 km south-east of Guam Island (USA) with maximum sustained winds of 93 km/h (tropical storm).
  • It is forecast to continue north-west, strengthening before passing south of Guam as a typhoon on 22 November early in the morning.
  • As of 21 November at 8:00 UTC, a tropical storm warning is in effect for Guam as well as for Rota and Tinian Islands (The Northern Mariana Islands).
