  • Several wildfires have broken out across southern British Columbia, reaching an estimated area of more than 26,000 ha. 
  • A wildfire in Lytton Town is threatening local communities and structures and is classified as "Out of Control", as reported by authorities. Earlier this week, up to 49.6 C record temperatures were reported in Lytton. Due to ongoing wildfire activity, evacuation orders have been issued for several communities in southern British Columbia, including Lytton.
  • According to the Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS), the fire danger forecast on 1-2 July is mostly from moderate to high over the central part of southern British Columbia.
