Mexico, Aug 11 (Prensa Latina) More than 2,000 people moved to shelters, two injured, as well as plantations, roads and damaged homes left Hurricane Franklin in Veracruz and Puebla, it was reported today. Franklin landfalled at 0:25 local time Thursday as a category one hurricane in the community of Lechuguillas, municipality of Vega de Alatorre.

Franklin, the tropical cyclone that was briefly a hurricane, has mostly dissipated in the mountains of eastern Mexico in a mass of thunderclouds and flash floods. It was identified and named as it approached the Yucatan peninsula from the east on Monday and deposited 160mm of rain on Campeche as it left to the west on Tuesday.
