El número de fallecidos por las inundaciones en Perú subió a 98 , mientras que los damnificados a 133.097 y las casas afectadas por el fenómeno del Niño costero a 198.220, según el último reporte del Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia Nacional ( COEN. A nivel nacional, el COEN reportó a 895.

On 21 March 2017, AMDA Peru consulted AMDA Headquarters in Japan on sending relief personnel for the recent floods and mudslides in Peru. In Peru, heavy downpours have been continuing intermittently because of the El Nino effect caused by the rise in the sea surface temperature since last month.
