  • Nevado del Ruiz volcano, located on the border of the Departments of Caldas and Tolima in central western Colombia, about 129 km west of the capital city Bogotá is increasing its volcanic seismic activity.
  • According to the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), the Municipalities of Casabianca, Herveo, Murillo and Villahermosa are invited by national authorities to carry out the evacuation of families who are located in the area of influence of the volcano.
  • Furthermore, the Government of Tolima declares public calamity due to the activity of the Nevado del Ruiz volca
