  • TC USAGI-18 made landfall close to the Vung Tau town (Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Vietnam) on 25 November in the morning (UTC). It continued moving northwestward inland over Ho Chi Minh City area toward southern Cambodia, as a tropical depression. On 26 November, its centre was located approximately 80 km north-west of Ho Chi Minh City and approximately 50 km south-east of Smaong Khang Cheung town (southern Cambodia) with maximum sustained winds of 46 km/h.
  • Over the next 24 hours, TC USAGI-18 is forecast to continue moving northwestward, weakening and dissipating. Heavy rainfalls and strong winds could affect South East Region (Vietnam) and southern Cambodia.
  • According to media reports, one person has died and 51 houses have been damaged in Ho Chi Minh City area due to the flash floods triggered by heavy rainfalls.

  • Tropical Cyclone THIRTYTHREE (named SAMUEL in the Philippines) continued moving westward passing over western Visayas Islands, Sulu Sea and northern Palawan Islands, slighty strenghtening. Heavy rainfalls and strong winds are currently affecting central-southern Luzon, Mindoro Island and Palawan Island. On 22 November at 00:00 UTC, its centre was located offshore over the South China Sea approximately 155 km north-west of Puerto Princesa (central Palawan Island, Mimaropa Region, Philippines) and approximately 1 000 Km east of Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan Province, southeastern Vietnam) with a maximum sustained winds of 56 km/h (tropical depression).
  • Over the next 48 hours, THIRTYTHREE is forecast to continue moving westward over the South China Sea toward southeastern Vietnam, strenghtening, with a maximum sustained winds up to 102 km/h (tropical storm). THIRTYTHREE could reach coastal areas of southeastern Vietnam on 24 November in the afternoon (UTC) as a tropical storm.
  • Over the next 24 hours, heavy rainfalls and strong winds could affect central-southern Luzon, Mindoro Island and Palawan Island.
  • According to local media, as of 22 november at 8.00 UTC, one person was reported dead in Magsaysay village (Palapag Municipality, Northern Samar Province, Eastern Visayas Region) due to flood triggered by heavy rainfalls.

  • Tropical cyclone THIRTYTHREE (SAMUEL in the Philippines) made landfall as a tropical depression close to Hernani town (Eastern Samar Province, Eastern Visayas Region) on 20 November.
  • SAMUEL continued west over central-eastern Visayas Islands and Visayan Sea, slightly weakening. Heavy rainfall is affecting the Visayas Islands, northern Mindanao and southern Luzon. On 21 November at 0:00 UTC, its centre was located approx. 20 km north-east of Carles town (Iloilo Province, Western Visayas Region) and 95 km east of Kalibo town (Aklan Province, Western Visayas Region) with maximum sustained winds of 46 km/h. SAMUEL is forecast to continue west towards the South China Sea with maximum sustained winds up to 56 km/h and could reach coastal areas of south-east Vietnam as a tropical storm in the afternoon of 24 November.
  • Over the next 24 hours, heavy rain could affect western Visayas Islands, Palawan Islands and southern Luzon.
  • As of 21 November at 8:00 UTC, a tropical cyclone warning Signal number 1 is in effect for the western Visayas Islands and southern Luzon.

  • A new tropical cyclone THIRTYTHREE (SAMUEL in the Philippines) formed over the Philippine Sea on 18 November and started moving north-west toward the central Philippines. On 20 November at 0:00 UTC, its centre was located approx. 265 km east-north-east of Surigao City (northern Mindanao Island) and 315 km east-south-east of Abuyog Town (Leyte Province, Eastern Visayas Region) with maximum sustained winds of 56 km/h (tropical depression).
  • SAMUEL could make landfall over southern Leyte Province on 20 November as a tropical depression, before possibly moving west over Visayas Islands on 20-21 November and on to Palawan Island (Mimaropa Region) as a tropical storm. It may reach coastal areas of south-east Vietnam on 24 November.
  • Over the next 24 hours, heavy rain could affect Visayas Islands and northern Mindanao.
  • As of 20 November at 8:00 UTC, a tropical cyclone warning Signal number 1 is in effect for Visayas Islands, northern Mindanao and southern Luzon.
