  • The humanitarian impact continues to rise,  following heavy sustained rainfall and subsequent floods and flash-floods, which occurred since 25 March, across the country.
  • According to several sources, on 28 and 29 March at least 17 people died, 26 were injured, 147 homes were damaged. In total at least 2 200 people have been affected. 
  • Hardest hit are the provinces of Parwan, Maidan Wardak, Daikundi, Logar, Herat, Farah, Badghis, Ghor, Samangan, Sar-e Pol, Jawzjan, Faryab, and Laghman.
  • In addition, the floods severely impacted livelihoods, resulting in the loss of more than 1100 livestock, and damaged agricultural land. 80 km of roads were destroyed.  
  • On 30-31 March, moderate to locally heavy rainfall is expected across central, eastern and north-eastern Afghanistan. Humanitarian agencies are intervening and carrying out assessments.

As of 26 March, ANDMA said 5 people had died and 94 houses were damaged across the provinces of Helmand, Kandahar, Zabul, Paktika and Parwan.
